Oppidan Designer Homes worked hard to create a suitable design in order to obtain approval to build this magnificent three-storey home – the result is proof that this endeavour was well worth the effort. Featuring a clean-cut, contemporary design and fine craftsmanship, this breathtaking abode is deserving of its gorgeous Sydney Harbour Bridge views.

The front façade is elegantly simple, demonstrating strong lines and calm colours that are unique compared to the rest of the properties on the street. Beautiful timber battens form a privacy screen over the large aluminium windows, and are framed by a clean white border. The fence and gate reflect the vertical lineation for cohesion; these lead to the garage built into the lowest level on one side, and a stately set of stairs up to the front door on the other.

As it is in any dwelling, the kitchen serves as the heart of the home. Here, a similar palette of soft timber and clean whites invites residents into the streamlined space. The generous island bench provides ample room for food preparation and casual dining, illuminated by the unique pendant light installed into the subtle bulkhead ceiling.

The kitchen is part of a lavish open-plan area that incorporates a dining space and living room. The cabinetry extends from the kitchen into the dining space, transforming into open display shelves for decorative items. This creates flow between the two spaces while still keeping them separate. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the kitchen and dining with natural light and help to maximise on views of the harbour and city.

Moving to the living room, a wide, custom-built entertainment unit steals the show. At the centre is a generous spot for a TV, beneath which a long gas fireplace bordered by curved vertical panel detailing elevates the room. On either side are open shelves and handle-less cupboards, forming an enticing symmetry. Everything is done in white and highlighted by the subtle, light-coloured timber floors.

In addition to this living room, Oppidan Designer Homes included separate entertainment zones, so that the teenagers and adults can have their own spaces to relax.

Gun barrel views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge can be enjoyed in the stunning master bedroom, achieved through the carefully considered orientation of the house and the multiple levels – a reflection of Oppidan Designer Homes’ ability to optimise every aspect of a home’s design and build.

Again, this stunning vista is accessible in the luxurious en suite. The homeowners can enjoy a bath in the freestanding tub while looking over the gorgeous Sydney surrounds through the grand window. Along with this opulent feature, the room also features stylish his-and-hers sinks built into a sophisticated vanity, and a spacious walk-in shower.

Among the many rooms and living spaces, Oppidan Designer Homes implemented a consistent level of style in the sections that connect these separate spaces. The staircase is particularly of note, with floating timber steps encased in clear glass, which effortlessly flows to form the barricade around the landing.
