The architectural vision of this stunning home focuses on the features of the expansive frontage, which welcomes guests with a natural, flowing façade and an inviting atmosphere. The client desired a modern coastal Hamptons-style façade and all main living spaces to overlook the picturesque Hastings River. They wanted the home to have a strong emphasis on family living, entertainment, privacy and personal space. Working alongside the amazing team at Collins W Collins Building Designers, Better Homes and Developments refined a spectacular floor plan to bring the project together.

The family room, dining room and kitchen areas are the centrepieces of the home, flowing seamlessly to the outdoor dining area, complete with its own BBQ kitchen, fireplace and television. All these spaces overlook the expansive pool and beautiful sweeping river views. The bedrooms are scattered around this zone with minimal floor space taken up by hallways, and each room features its own bathroom and walk-in-robe. With a cinema, fully equipped games room, separate guest house and a garage with enough space to accommodate four vehicles, family living has never looked so good.

This home exudes charm and warmth, a look completed with a selection of James Hardi cladding profiles, beautiful stack stone, polished concrete and timber floors, exposed raking rafters with VJ paneling, 2pac painted joinery and stone countertops.

In designing this home, Better Homes and Developments faced the challenge of building on a sloping and flood-prone block of land. Months of work went into removing poor foundational material and constructing a large engineer-designed retaining wall to support 600m3 of quality imported fill, which needed to be compacted and laid to the engineer’s approval before any of the plumbing and supporting piers for the slab could be started. The spectacular result speaks for itself.
