LTAA Architecture Project 2
ELEGANT AND SOPHISTICATED
This second project by LTAA Architecture is a prime example of how an extension at the back of the house can enhance a living space. The client approached LTAA Architecture with a need to remove years of additions to their home. Over time, these additions had progressively lower roof pitches, resulting in a dark and cramped decking space with low ceilings.
The team removed the rear additions and proposed a unique roof design that allows for high, raked ceilings across the width of the new living, kitchen, dining and rear deck areas. This created a beautiful, light-filled space, while the internal layout facilitated a smooth flow from the existing front door to the living area. The use of curved internal walls added a level of elegance and softness to the spaces, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality.
For the proposed additions, CFC cladding in a dark grey tone was used, contrasting the existing cement-rendered cottage, which featured white tones. The roof was finished with Colorbond sheeting and VELUX skylights, enhancing both the aesthetics and functionality of the design.
