Econ Homes Project 1
HARMONIOUS LIVING
The design process for this home was particularly challenging due to the shape of the land, which was not a standard rectangular block and featured varying slopes. To address these complexities, Econ Homes meticulously maximised the use of the available space, ensuring that the house harmoniously blended with the natural contours of the land while accommodating the client’s preferences and lifestyle needs. The bespoke design reflects a careful balance between aesthetic, appeal, functionality and sensitivity to the site’s topography.
The client wanted a practical yet elegant living space, with an emphasis on easy access and seamless connection to the outdoors. The layout promotes a lovely flow between spaces, enhancing both convenience and comfort. Large windows and open-plan living areas allow natural light to flood the interior, making the home feel more spacious and inviting.
A state-of-the-art media room was included on the first floor, equipped with the latest technology to provide an exceptional entertainment experience. The kitchen was designed to be a standout feature of the home, boasting modern finishes, high-end appliances and ample storage. Additionally, a generous butler’s pantry was integrated into the design, with a connected combined laundry area to enhance functionality and efficiency in the daily household routine. Overall, the design balances aesthetic appeal with practical use.
The new home construction project was thoughtfully designed with a strong focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, incorporating a range of features to minimise its environmental impact. One of the key elements was the installation of solar panels, which provide renewable energy to power the home, significantly reducing reliance on the grid and lowering carbon emissions. In addition, a rainwater harvesting system was integrated into the design, allowing the collection and storage of rainwater for use in irrigation and other non-potable applications. The home also features energy-efficient windows, designed to maximise insulation and reduce heat loss, enhancing the overall energy performance of the building. To take full advantage of natural light and passive heating, the design includes strategically placed north-facing windows, which allow ample sunlight to enter the home while minimising heat gain during the summer months.
