Attard’s Kitchens & Cabinetry Project 6

This modern kitchen by Attard’s Kitchens & Cabinetry features a large amount of storage space and a classic black and white palette. The functional design of the open-plan layout allows the kitchen, living and dining areas to be separated without compromising on space or style. Attard’s Kitchens & Cabinetry created an abundance of storage space by installing floor-to-ceiling cabinetry that encompasses the back wall. With integral handles and matching kickboards, the cabinetry blends together seamlessly to achieve the illusion of a wall. Black-stained American Oak crown-cut veneer and a clear, long-lasting polyurethane finish were selected for the cabinetry. The dark colour contrasts beautifully with the surrounding walls, and creates an increased sense of space. Two black ovens are integrated into the cabinetry to ensure the streamlined appearance remains unhindered.

Carrara marble was handpicked for the island bench for a beautiful contrast and an added sense of luxury. The marble was professionally honed and sealed to ensure a lasting result. The island’s waterfall panels are cohesive with the unified, block-coloured aesthetic of the kitchen. With a breakfast bar incorporated into its design, an appropriate amount of space is provided for simultaneous food preparation and entertaining. Drawers with Blum TANDEMBOX intivo systems were installed within the island for increased storage space. A double sink is undermounted to increase the streamlined appeal.

A floor-to-ceiling sliding door conceals a step-in pantry, which includes internal lighting and custom-made shelving to maximise its storage potential. The appliance cabinetry seamlessly integrates the fridge and dishwasher, as well as offering internal lighting and a retractable pocket door for optimum convenience. A stainless steel benchtop that extends up the walls provides the cooking zone with a sanitary and easy-to-clean surface. A Dekton splashback imitates the look of the benchtop for a unified effect. The recessed strip light that’s positioned against the splashback is intensified by the reflective surface for an energy-saving effect.
