This bold design, crafted by Michael Attard of Attard’s Kitchens & Cabinetry, combines a classic monochromatic colour palette with sleek, effortless finishes. The kitchen connects seamlessly with the surrounding space, anchoring itself within the structure. The kitchen needed to stand out, while also ensuring it didn’t compete with the spectacular views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The clients required a design with a homely feel that was both versatile and low maintenance in equal measures. It was integral that the minimalist look could be easily maintained by the clients, and that everything in the space is accessible, but can also be cleverly concealed when hosting visitors.

The result is a stunning kitchen design that has its own presence within the living space, while working harmoniously with its surrounds. Clever storage options have been included, such as below-bench drawers and overhead cabinets. The volume of concealed space also ensures the kitchen remains neat and tidy. The heart of the home, this kitchen is the perfect place to sit and admire the impressive views.

Balancing both form and function, the kitchen seamlessly integrates all zones by utilising a triangular layout between the sink, stovetop and fridge. The bench space has been maximised throughout the design process, allowing plenty of room for appliances. The kitchen’s open-plan design also takes advantage of the breathtaking views, while connecting the indoor and outdoor areas. The minimalist black and white hues selected for this project will remain timeless for future occupants.

The stained, black American oak veneer features a clear polyurethane finish and contrasts beautifully with the Caesarstone benchtop and toughened mirror splashback, creating a luxurious, modern kitchen worthy of its locale. The subdued colour palette perfectly complements the natural tile flooring and the bold, gold light fixture, establishing visual cohesion with the adjoining living room. With luxurious, modern fittings including Miele appliances and finger-pull cabinetry, this kitchen is perfect for casual family meals and entertaining guests.
