This full harbour front knock-down rebuild effortlessly blends into the surrounding natural landscape, achieved by off-form concrete, natural hardwood timbers and blackened steel that reflect the neutral tones and greenery in the landscaping. The minimalist design aids in the endeavour to blend; it is unassuming, letting the landscape speak for itself, while still demanding a sense of awe through its clean, straight lines and smooth structures.

Large doors, windows and skylights fulfil the client and Avenue One’s aim to let in as much natural light as possible. They also allow visual access of the surrounding views from different perspectives, seamlessly connecting the outdoors with the indoor spaces – a remarkable success.

Avenue One was first established in 2016 by brothers Will and Tom Ellwood. Over the last five years, the boutique studio has employed innovative design to deliver world-class residential buildings, priding itself on its impeccable service delivery.

Both brothers are backed by extensive industry experience; Will as a senior project manager and Tom as a town planner and urban designer, giving them a one-of-a-kind insight into every stage of the design and build process.
