Buildcraft Constructions’ new display home, The Aurora, is bold and functional; designed to stand the test of time. The modern home suits the needs of the Australian family, and is able to adapt to changing family requirements.

The architectural elements of this home shine in their own right – shapes, colours, and materials used internally and externally provide contemporary characteristics that become the hero of this home. Buildcraft Constructions’ previous display home, The Sterling, provided inspiration for the floor plan, while new design elements were introduced to create The Aurora.

The façade emphasises the minimalist aesthetic of the home, with a modest palette applied to key areas to highlight certain features, such as dark window frames and dark stone-look tile cladding. Timber cladding adds warmth to the otherwise monochromatic palette, and is echoed through the landscaping.

The external colours and materials flow into the interior and are used on a larger scale to add warmth and interest through texture. The heart of the home is undeniably the open-plan kitchen/living/dining area, which is a standout in the design, providing views over the landscaped gardens and in-ground swimming pool.

The living room also includes a striking fireplace, and the spacious kitchen is a chef’s dream, providing ample storage, a butler’s pantry, generous bench space and the latest appliances. The main bedroom was designed with luxury and comfort in mind, and with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, it is the ultimate adult retreat.

To achieve an indoor/outdoor integration, the living area opens out on to the alfresco and the lush landscaping around the pool. This forward-thinking design focuses on family living and adaptability through simple yet effective design.

Buildcraft Constructions produces custom-designed homes that showcase the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail and is defined by its client-focused and innovative designs. It’s no wonder Buildcraft Constructions won the Design & Construct House $500,001–$750,000 category at the 2017 Master Builders Association (MBA) of NSW Excellence in Housing Awards. At the 2016 ceremony, the company also won the award for Exhibition/Project Home $600,001–$750,000.

The company was also recognised at the 2016 Hills Building And Design Awards, where it took home the Interior Fitout – Residential Interior accolade.
