Battling through the challenges of COVID-19 restrictions and the recent Sydney floodings, Edgecliff Homes defied all odds by bringing us this stunningly presented display home. Going against the grain of current housing trends, the company used a dark and moody colour palette full of drama and bold statements, inviting warmth and intimacy into the fold.

Complemented by the excess natural light outlets from the skylights and Monument Windows, this home has an easy sense of flow that guides you throughout its wonderfully structured interior. Using a tasteful combination of materials, from brick to timber, the varied combinations ensures that there’s a little something for everyone.

Stately minimalism is a recurring theme throughout the home, but is expressed particularly in the kitchen area, where the use of simple cabinetry and clean porcelain benches relieves the stresses of clutter. The natural light streaming in from the windows is softened by the semi-transparent drapery.

Unapologetically inspiring creativity and personality is the jungle accent wall in the children’s bedroom. Carpeted flooring is used throughout the bedrooms, matching sweetly with the white walls and grey curtains. Another accent wall can be found in the guest bedroom. The cool blues paired with the popping splashes of gold make for a mesmerising vision that ties in well the house’s running greyscale theme.

Using cleverly selected textured tiles for the bathrooms and gunmetal tapware for the sinks, the home ensures that you go through your hygiene routines in style. With seamless ease between indoor and outdoor spaces, these transitions are not only functional, but allow for the flourishing of memorable moments shared between loved ones.

Weatherex Cladding, an Australian-made, eco-friendly product, is used for the externals of the house. The abundance of skylights and windows also help with energy efficiency, allowing this modern abode to address modern ecological concerns.
