BRIGHT AND AIRY

Beautifully executed, this display home was designed by the experts at Edgecliff Homes. Only given a nine-metre-wide block of land to work on, Edgecliff Homes had to orientate and design the home to maximise the space available to facilitate a light, homely and spacious atmosphere.

By utilising a well-thought-out floor plan, Edgecliff Homes was able to ensure the home comfortably features four bedrooms, a main bathroom and master ensuite, a laundry, a spacious kitchen and a living and dining area.

Well-placed rooms allow for the home to open into a large kitchen and lounge area to create functional central living. The home also features a spacious alfresco retreat that spans the width of the house and backs onto the lounge area to create a versatile indoor/outdoor living situation. Expertly-orientated windows allow for an abundance of light and airflow, which heightens the spacious feeling.

Edgecliff Homes had to design the project in a way that turned a narrow block of land into a spacious family-sized home. The use of natural light and bright internal colours help the rooms feel larger. Despite the size of the land, Edgecliff Homes was able to create fully functional rooms, with enough space for a large family to comfortable reside.

The kitchen features light natural wood overhead cabinetry, which juxtaposes white countertops and a subway tile splashback. Black fixtures and trimmings throughout the home emphasise the sharp angles. The spacious living area opens into the kitchen and alfresco space, promoting a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor living and providing an abundance of room to entertain.

The house was made using sustainable Weathertex cladding, COLORBOND steel roofing and Truecore steel frames. The open-plan style of the home and quantity of windows allow for natural ventilation and airflow.
