Edgecliff Homes Project 8

Creating the illusion of grandeur and space within a modest nine-metre-wide block, this innovative display home constructed by Edgecliff Homes and designed by Devine Drafting showcases true craftsmanship, with the aim to capture the hearts and imaginations of potential homeowners.

A transparent front door brings light and volume into the entryway, including the sleek staircase and spacious void area. Hanging hooks and a practical seat made from Weathertex cladding utilises the space under the stairs and brings more depth to an area that is usually closed off, providing a central point for family to drop-and-go without creating clutter.

Moving towards the back of the house, the stunning open-plan living area dazzles and delights. By tucking the Butler’s pantry behind a central wall, Edgecliff Homes was able to include a splashback window to give the illusion of a long, seamless Smartstone kitchen bench. A black feature pendant light above the island bench gives the kitchen an edgy touch, while the raked ceilings in the living and dining area create a sense of spaciousness, aided by the predominant whites.

Continuing the theme of functionality and practicality, this home pushes the boundaries with a European-style laundry located in the middle of the home – a clever design choice that allows other rooms to gain in size. The laundry features a fully customised fit-out and Smartstone benchtop for a cohesive look that matches the kitchen.

Black VJ wall panelling adds texture and definition in the master bedroom. The floating bedside table contrasts beautifully for a touch of warmth, highlighted by the delicately dangling pendant light. The en suite boasts refined luxury, with a floor-toceiling tiled feature wall, generously sized walk-in shower, matte black fixtures and double table-top basins.

A modern home wouldn’t be complete without an outdoor entertaining area. Glass sliding doors connect the living room to the under-cover backyard dining space. Akin to the dwelling’s internal design, a warm timber accent has been incorporated, forming an additional seating area and pathway that leads to a firepit. This display home, located in Austral, can now be viewed by appointment only. Contact Edgecliff Homes for a private tour.
