Seeking a reputable company with a demonstrated eye for detail and exceptional craftmanship, Homes by Howe was honoured to be selected by the Governor General as the builder for this beautiful home extension. Applying its expertise, Homes by Howe successfully fulfilled the client’s brief by seamlessly assimilating the extension while still maintaining the original memory-filled family home, and the result is flawless.

The team worked closely with the client to ensure that all the finishes and fixtures selected would integrate with the existing structure. While the original abode visibly wore marks of love that had been created within its walls over time, the new build was sympathetic to the initial structure and allowed the builders to create an expansion that rejuvenated and expanded the residence’s footprint.

Designed by Ring and Associates, the project added an additional 400m2 of living space, allowing the abode to encompass five bedrooms and bathrooms, an impressive kitchen as well as multiple areas for quiet contemplation.

Much attention was given to the home’s original timber ceiling as parts were restored and reinstated. Maintaining the original ceiling was just one careful consideration Homes by Howe made to ensure the property retained its original features. The use of beautiful Jarrah timber flooring was also used throughout the extension to keep continuity between the old and the new and cohesively tied the space together with the timber ceiling.
