LTAA Architecture Project 1
STUNNINGLY COHESIVE
LTAA Architecture showcased its skill by transforming this typical 1970s Australian home into a mid-century masterpiece. The client wanted to build a first-floor addition to their existing holiday home to accommodate the master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, an extra living space and a balcony with amazing views of Caves Beach. With clever design and collaboration with G & M Building, LTAA Architecture was able to use the external ground floor walls to support the first-floor level and ended up with more gorgeous views than anticipated.
The client also wanted some changes made to the layout of the existing ground level, including moving the laundry for a better living space and creating a stronger connection to the rear yard, alfresco area and pool. The result exceeded expectations, with a lovely between the spaces created.
The client also decided to change the architectural style to a mid-century design. This was achieved by implementing materials that complemented the style, with lightweight CFC cladding and battens applied to the renovations and the façade of the existing ground level. This approach ensured the design appeared cohesive and whole, rather than as an addition.
