Marrickville ‘Stanley House’

NURTURED BY NATURE

Combining natural materials with a cool, inviting colour palette, this latest project by Sowden Building Solutions is one to be remembered. Designed by client and building designer, Tracy Graham from Connected Design – the home reflects a seamless fusion of creativity and craftsmanship.

From the outset, the vision was clear – to create a comfortable sanctuary that radiates relaxation, connection and warmth. The result is a truly unique inner-city renovation featuring Hempcrete construction, a green roof, and a lush succulent garden that brings the outdoors in. A newly added second-storey includes a spacious office, master bedroom, ensuite, and a versatile multi-purpose room, transforming the space into a private retreat.

Built with sustainability in mind, the home incorporates carefully selected elements such as underfloor insulation, structurally insulated panels (SIPs) for the roof, and double glazed windows. An all electric home with a heat pump hot water system, solar PV, induction cooking and reverse cycle air condioning further enhancing energy efficiency. This home stands as a shining example of thoughtful design and environmental responsibility – leaving a lasting, positive footprint.

Designed by Connected Design.
