INGENIOUS INTERGENERATIONAL LIVING

This magnificent abode was expertly designed by Straightline Studio Co. to serve as a multi-generational hub for a family of grandparents, parents and teenage kids, while beautifully capturing the surrounding views. To accommodate the needs of the client and heed council guidelines, which restricted the construction of two complete homes, Straightline Studio Co. designed an expansive main house and an attached two-bedroom granny flat, joined by a glass breezeway.

The home design incorporates an abundance of north facing glazing to ensure the home is always flooded with natural light. The main house also features a main gable that runs from the front to the back of the home, drawing attention to the stunning views. With the collaboration of Ebeling Constructions and Cinder Design Co., the project seamlessly integrates with the surrounding environment, boasting a complementary earthy colour palette and materials such as recycled red brick and traditional horizontal cladding.
