A COSY COUNTRY COTTAGE

Having been beautifully restored by Turnberry Builds with the aid of Huddle & Co, this homely cottage celebrates the style and architecture of the original house while giving it a contemporary touch up.

Turnberry Builds expertly preserved the cottage-style facade to not lose the history or character of the house. The new primed pine rusticated cladding and James Hardie Linea cladding was matched like for like with the old cladding to not compromise the appearance. Recycled blackbutt timber was used for the front door and window frames, adding to the rustic appearance of the cottage and creating a harmony between the house and the surrounding nature.

Due to the dated condition of the original home, the existing frames were twisted and bowed which made it challenging to restore and add new accessories such as windows. After reframing some sections, the windows, including several louvre windows, were installed. This enhanced the period look and feel of the cottage as well as allowing natural light into the interior, making it feel warmer, bigger and more inviting.
